Since starting in business as a garden designer and landscape gardener, I have enjoyed working with award winning architects, builders, and property developers, However, I spend most of my time working for discerning private clients who will use my services to refurbish their homes and gardens.
The following are expressions of satisfaction from satisfied customers which I have collected in the form of notes, letters, and emails over the years. If you would like to contact any of my previous customers, please let me know.
Clare Walsh (Standlake): Mike transformed my front garden from an area with overgrown shrubs and weeds, to a garden which is a real pleasure to look at, the Spring bulbs have been stunning. Mike did all the hard work and was full of ideas but also listened carefully to my likes and dislikes and I felt very much involved at every stage which was very important to me. I have enjoyed the whole experience and have learnt a great deal in the process. Happy to talk to anyone who is thinking of using Michael James Design and would be pround to show you my lovely garden.
Jill (High Cogges): This year it has been a joy to watch the effect of Spring on the wild are you created for us. I have counted no less than 19 different [wild] flowers so far (May).
Marie Louise (France): I visited your website and was very pleased to look at the marvelous work you can do............... and cannot tell you in true words what I really feel in my heart when I [see] such nice gardens. Congratulations.

Anne Yates (North Oxford): Dear MIke, Ronald and I are delighted with the work you have done. We are both wondering why we didn't do it year ago. Thank you for your advice re care of the plants. Best wishes, Anne.
Steve Holmes (Witney): Michael is a superior professional without being precious or ludicrously expensive. I hace a horror of the greedy parasites in the building trade so his informed - but trustworthy approach - was a very welcome relief. He knows his stuff and he does a great job.
Mrs A Hollis (North Oxford): Thank you for your quick, efficent and considerate service.
Sophie and Andy (Jericho): Dear Michael, Sophie and I are very happy with the work you have done - the patio looks wonderful.
Mr Powell (Marcham) Hi, just a quick thank you note for chopping down my tree. Very professional job.
Steve Chinn (St. Clements, Oxford.) Mike - many thanks for a wonderful job. Excellent and careful design advice, hard landscaping and planting. We now have a lovely Japanese-style sanctuary in the back garden, and the cottagy herb garden in front. Everything has been completed to a very high standard. And we even had a few stimulating philosophical seminasrs along the way. You certainlya get an unhesitating reccommendation from us. Anyone interested in Mike's services is welcome to e-mail for a personal reference: Dee Amy-Chinn,
Steve Chinn (Chinnups@aol.com).
Chris Thompson (North Oxford): Mike came when promised, estimated as discussed, came to do the work when agreed. The fence was solidly erected at a fair price, Unhesitating recommendation.
Claire Abrahams (Abingdon): The service I received was hightly professional and efficient.
Julie Carter (Botley, Oxford): My garden is looking very well and all getting all green and shooting up. The Wisteria tree is coming into leaf and it all looks very nice. I'm a bit of an old mother hen over it and it looks very tidy as you can imagine! There is lots of Nigella coming up all over the place - I love it, it's so frothy and delicate.
Dr P. Eichstroff (Kennington): Delighted with the work Mike.
Rosemary Roberts (Fyfield): Mike, the cottage has much improved since it has been re-pointed; it is less draughty and much warmer. The Wisteria has now sprung into life; please come and take some photographs.
